Pleasurebent Tours Crane Tour

It was time for the annual Sandhill Crane tour at Whitewater Draw with Pleasurebent Tours. A bus-full of happy participants were treated to the best crane spectacle I’ve seen so far this winter.

A fairly stiff SW breeze tempted a huge flock of maybe 10,000 SANDHILL CRANES to hunker down in the SW corner, giving us superb views. Better still, the pair of TUNDRA SWANS that have been seen briefly a couple of times in the past few weeks were also in this corner. And a GREAT HORNED OWL in the barn was popular as always.

After the tour ended, I went back with my camera (and Minno) and took in the experience. Please forgive my indulgence with this series of photos. If you click on the first photo, you will see a slideshow with each photo at a larger size.
