Well, the trend of not seeing what I’m looking for continued, with the absence of not one but two Northern Waterthrushes at Sweetwater Wetlands in Tucson, and an American Purple Gallinule (which was seen just before we got there but had wandered off back into the reeds).
But whilst the birds let us down again, the other wildlife stepped in to make it a memorable visit, especially for Bruce. He’s been around a bit, has Bruce, but he’d never seen a rattlesnake… until today. It was a Western Diamondback, and a very handsome chap too.
Bruce and Brenda headed back to San Jose to get back to selling stuff on Ebay, and I got back to tinkering in my new courtyard… more of which will no doubt be appearing on here shortly…
They were never around when I wanted to see them!!
