Yard list: Aug 2012

My first full month at my new home in Rio Rico, having moved in on May 4 and spent a month in Britain in June/July. The new additions to the yard list have slower during the hot monsoon period, with only five species added this month, two of which were today: a pair of WESTERN SCREECH-OWLS was excitedly calling in the early hours, and a flock of 38 WHITE-FACED IBIS flew along the Santa Cruz River before dusk.

Other August additions have been AMERICAN KESTREL, WESTERN TANAGER (a female) and a BLACK PHOEBE which visited my tiny pond a couple of times.
