Rio Rico, Patagonia

More Santa Cruz County birding this morning…

Rio Rico Drive flooded fields:
BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING-DUCK, WHITE-FACED IBIS, TROPICAL KINGBIRD, BLUE GROSBEAK, BRONZED COWBIRD.

Pendleton Drive just north of Ruby Road, Rio Rico:
A female WILD TURKEY crossed the road in front of us and headed towards the Santa Cruz River. Interesting location. You have to wonder if lowland records along migration routes like this are ‘wild’ birds venturing in from northern Mexico.

Patagonia Lake Road:
RUFOUS-CROWNED, RUFOUS-WINGED and BOTTERI’S SPARROWS.

Patagonia Roadside Rest:
Pair of THICK-BILLED KINGBIRDS, BLACK VULTURE, GRAY HAWK, three WARBLING VIREOS.
