A difficult day of dodging rain and hail showers in the Chiricahuas. Somehow, we still managed 71 species.
Cave Creek Ranch, Portal:
The same six hummingbird species as yesterday, ‘MYRTLE’ YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, SUMMER TANAGER, LAZULI BUNTING, and SCOTT’S ORIOLE. Thanks Reed! http://www.cavecreekranch.com/ [1]
South Fork of Cave Creek:
BUFF-BREASTED FLYCATCHER, singing VIRGINIA’S WARBLER.
Also, ARIZONA WOODPECKER, PEREGRINE FALCON, HAMMOND’S and DUSKY-CAPPED FLYCATCHERS, GRACE’S and TOWNSEND’S WARBLERS, and HEPATIC TANAGER.
The George Walker House, Paradise:
A smart male BLUE-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD was a new arrival.
Also, the long-staying, out-of-habitat INCA DOVE, SUMMER TANAGER, and SCOTT’S ORIOLE among many great birds. Thanks Winston and Jackie! http://www.thegeorgewalkerhouse.com/ [18]
WILD TURKEY, TOWNSEND’S SOLITAIRE, and YELLOW-EYED JUNCO nearby, along Paradise Road.
