December 22nd, 2015  Tags: amado, california gulch, florida wash, guiding, madera canyon, pena blanca canyon, rio rico, ruby rd, se az birding A really nice day of birding from the Atascosas to the Santa Ritas, with 78 species in all. I led a cool and breezy free bird walk at Arivaca Cienega. The conditions made for difficult birding, and we only tallied 34 species over three hours, with nothing particularly unusual. It’s Christmas Bird Count time again and I’ve taken part in two surveys so far. Yesterday it was the Green Valley / Madera Canyon CBC, and today it was Patagonia’s turn. |
