Sedona, Flagstaff, Grand Canyon

With my friend Micky from England and my little dog, Minno, I spent a few days touring the wonderful sights of central and northern Arizona. It was mainly a sightseeing trip, but we did do some birding and added species such as JUNIPER TITMOUSE to Micky’s Arizona list. We headed through Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon on our way north.

After an overnight stop in Flagstaff, we spent a day at the south rim of the Grand Canyon. It may be cliche, but it is remarkable, and a couple of days after the Thanksgiving weekend is a pleasantly quiet time to visit. And I did manage one decent bird photo… with my phone!

We headed back to Flagstaff for another night. Flagstaff is a great town situated in a very pretty area, worthy of more exploration.

We made our way back south and home to Rio Rico, via a quick stop at the Thrasher Spot near Buckeye to add LE CONTE’S THRASHER to Micky’s list. An excellent way to spend a few days.
