If it works, keep doing it! We went back to Catalina State Park and the Santa Cruz Flats to enjoy the great birding currently at these two sites. I’ve done this day a few times lately, but it’s worth repeating, especially when it’s so successful.

A successful day of birding and photography with one of my favorite clients, at a couple of super winter birding sites. February 14th, 2016  Tags: arivaca, guiding, las cienegas, pena blanca canyon, pena blanca lake, rio rico, se az birding Sometimes we have to admit defeat when it comes to finding tricky target birds, but today really was something else. We had six main target birds, all missable but none of them impossible. I was expecting to find maybe four or five, but despite our best efforts and a decent day list of 73 species, we failed to find all six of our targets. It was undoubtedly my least successful day of target birding in my guiding career! That’s birding for you.
