March 16th, 2016  Tags: california gulch, guiding, pena blanca canyon, rio rico, ruby rd, se az birding, tubac Another great day of birding, from Tucson down to the border and back, taking in the hawk watch and two famous canyons. Today was a lot of fun because it was partly about finding birds, but mostly about having an adventure and exploring remote, quiet places. Starting and ending in Rio Rico, we took a circular route through the Patagonia Mountains, San Rafael Valley, Canelo Hills, Las Cienegas, and Box Canyon. A fine morning of birding around Tubac, taking in the Anza Trail, the famous hawk watch, and Rock Corral Canyon. |
