April 29th, 2016 ![]() April 28th, 2016 ![]() Last April I went out with David Chapman to do a ‘big day’, seeing and hearing as many species as possible in one day. We ended on 144 species, which was pretty good. Could we beat it this year? The weather forecast said no – it was going to be very windy, especially in the afternoon. Undeterred, we went for it anyway… I did my bit by taking part in the Tucson Bird Count again this year. It’s a really good, scientific survey that harnesses the power of citizen science. For the third year I did the same route through South Tucson, counting birds at busy intersections, vacant lots, rough neighborhoods, parking lots and shopping malls. |
