I really love the SW Wings Birding Festival, both the main festival in August and the relatively new ‘Spring Fling’ field trips in May. I had the pleasure of leading a fun and enthusiastic group on today’s trip to Carr Canyon. We ended with an excellent list of 76 species. A great day of birding the Huachuca Mountains and Las Cienegas, with 80 species. My third and final tour for the Southwest Wings Birding Festival in Sierra Vista this year. This one was Carr Canyon, and we had a good day, although we did miss out on a few of our target species. I also managed to go out with a flat camera battery and no spare, so no bird photos today. |
